Traditional Student Desk Gets Makeover, Becomes More Durable in Process
The traditional wood-and-metal school desk gets a much-needed makeover through a leading rotomolding manufacturing process and becomes more durable in the process

Traditional school desks have been used in schools throughout this country for generations with very little design innovation. Most remember the ill-fashioned desks made of a wood writing surface attached to a chair with a metal brace. A new desk now marks the first real advancement in student desks. Fashioned out of polyethylene, the most widely-used plastic in the world, the Qdesk® is manufactured by a rotational molding process that allows the heated plastic to be molded into almost any shape with virtually any thickness, thereby increasing the durability factor many-fold.
Because of the way the desks are manufactured, there are no edges or sharp corners to hurt little fingers and because of its one-piece design, there is no hardware or screws. Maintenance of the desks is minimal and the desks are 100% recyclable at the end of their useful life - that lifespan being durable enough to stand up to the rigors of biology, mathematics, and history class for years.
